TIME: 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM
A rolling time schedule will be used for all events; athletes must
follow the progress of the meet.
Athletes will be excused from class at 1:45 pm and transported to the league meets by bus. Busses will also provide transportation back to GHS once the meet has ended. Busses pick-up/drop off at Circle Drive at GHS. If you want to take your child home at the end of the meet you must write a note and give it to head coach, Brandon Ortiz, prior to the meet.

Retain your Golden Bib – this is your entry ticket into the CA Winter Championships on Feb. 8!

SPECTATOR/GENERAL ADMISSION: All non-competing athletes (parents, coaches, fans, etc.) will be responsible for purchasing a ticket and entering via the spectators’ entrance via the walk-in street gate located along Campus Dr., near the northeast corner of the stadium. Spectator/general admission opens at 8 a.m. This is the only gate that will allow entry access for the public into the Winter Championships. Parents, coaches and fans ARE NOT allowed onto the track or the infield.

General Admission:

Adults: $10 (cash only)

HS Students w/ID and Children under 13: $5 (cash only)

Athlete Admission into a Qualifier meet:

• Arrive early to avoid long lines and wait times.

• Each athlete MUST fill out a form/waiver and pay the $12 admission fee for that Qualifier meet.

• Athletes will be given a unique meet bib to identify them at that Qualifier meet only. o Athletes not wearing their unique bib will not be allowed to compete at that Qualifier meet.

• All athletes will compete unattached at all Qualifier meets. o Team names aren’t needed until athletes qualify/register for the CA Winter Championships.

Cost at each Qualifier: $12.00, includes unlimited event entry at that Qualifier meet only. Weather scheduling: All events that can be safely contested will be held, rain or shine.

Qualifying into the 2020 CA Winter Championships:
Qualifying into the CA Winter Championships will be solely based on performance marks, and must be achieved at one of the official qualifying meets. Athletes that win their event must still meet the minimum qualifying standards listed below. Athletes may compete at multiple qualifying meets.
There will be no weight throw or pentathlon at the qualifiers, just the final (request entry by email.)
If an athlete meets the minimum qualifying standard (see chart below) at one of the qualifying meets, that athlete will be invited to compete in the CA Track & Field Winter Championships in the event in which he/she has qualified.
Relay members must be from the same High School NO ALL-STAR TEAMS!!

QUALIFYING TO FINALS: There will be twenty four (24) teams in each final race. (Specific to Riverside Cross Country Course and could be reduced in the future at different venues)
In divisions with three (3) qualifying heats, the top eight (8) teams in each heat will qualify to finals. Individuals who finish in the first ten (10) actual places and are not members of qualifying teams will also advance to the finals.
In divisions with two (2) qualifying heats, the top twelve (12) teams in each heat will qualify to finals. Individuals who finish in the first fifteen (15) actual places and are not members of qualifying teams will also advance.
C. STATE QUALIFYING INFORMATION
The first seven (7) teams in boys divisions I-V and girls division I-V will automatically qualify for the State Championships in Fresno (Woodward Park) on November 30, 2019.
A maximum of five (5) individual finishers who are not members of qualifying teams and who finish in the first twenty (20) places in their respective divisions, will also advance to the State Championships. COACHES ARE REMINDED VIEW/PRINT STATE BULLETIN IF THEY HAVE QUALIFIERS @ WWW.CIFSTATE.ORG.
