Hunter Mezich started things off with a bang in the first inning sending a 3-1 pitch over the fence to give the Tartans an early lead. The game was back and forth until the fourth inning when the Freshmen exploded for 5 runs.
The hit parade began with an Ethan Tapia single followed by hits from Joe Gilkeson, Raymond Cepeda-Cintra, J.J. Nolan, and a double by Evan Ellis. The final runs came in after a 2 out infield single by Brady Baeza.
Noah Martin started on the mound for Glendora and earned the win after going 4 innings strong allowing 1 run on 3 hits and 4 strikeouts without a walk.
Dominic Rausch and Brett Hunt came on to close the game out preserving the lead and earning the Tartan Freshmen a season opening victory.
Gilkeson led all Glendora hitters with two hits and Ellis led the team with 2 RBIs.
